Chinese technology and automotive manufacturer Xpeng has officially unveiled the 2026 P7+ sedan, the latest addition to its global market strategy. Featuring 104 design and engineering improvements, the vehicle positions itself in the automotive world as an “AI-defined vehicle.” Available in 36 countries, the model comes in both fully electric and range extender (EREV) versions.
Xpeng P7+ Unveiled
According to the official announcement, the EREV version can travel 430 kilometers on a full battery charge using only electric power. This makes the P7+ the “world’s longest pure electric range EREV sedan.” With internal combustion generator support, the total range reaches up to 1,550 kilometers.
Built on an 800V architecture, the P7+ pushes the boundaries of its segment with its energy storage speed. Thanks to the 5C fast charging support offered in higher trim levels, the battery charge level reaches 80% from 30% in just 12 minutes.
In the EREV version of the vehicle, the 1.5-liter turbocharged engine acts as the generator, while the main electric motor powering the wheels delivers 180 kW (241 hp). With a total system power of 320 kW, the vehicle’s maximum speed is limited to 200 km/h. Fully electric versions offer range options of up to 725 kilometers according to CLTC standards, with battery capacities varying between 60.7 and 76.3 kWh.
The vehicle’s exterior design prioritizes aerodynamic efficiency, with a drag coefficient of 0.206 Cd directly supporting this efficiency. The new generation sedan, approximately 5.1 meters long and with a 3-meter wheelbase, promises a spacious interior. The standard luggage capacity is 725 liters, which expands to 2,221 liters when the seats are folded down, providing an impressive loading capacity.
In terms of intelligent driving technologies, Xpeng uses its own developed Turing AI chips and end-to-end image processing systems. While not featuring a LiDAR sensor, the system analyzes the environment using high-resolution cameras and offers autonomous driving and safety assistants as standard across all trim levels.
